Requirements

To join SSI's 3-Step Instructor Training Approach, you need to be a Divemaster or have an equivalent certification. 

Training Process

  1. Assistant Instructor / Instructor Training Course (ITC) Combination - Begin with a combination course, enhanced with Digital Learning.Instructor
  2. Training Course (ITC) - Complete the course to advance your skills and knowledge.
  3. Instructor Evaluation (IE)- Enroll in the IE to qualify as an SSI Open Water Instructor.

Course Details

  • Duration: 10-day training program.
  • Certification: Qualifies you to independently teach key SSI programs such as Scuba Diver, Open Water Diver, Enriched Air Nitrox, Diver Stress & Rescue, and Dive Guide.

For those who prefer a more gradual learning experience, the 3 steps can be taken separately at your own pace and with a flexible schedule.

Do I need my own equipment

For entry level courses, we provide everything you will need. If there is any special equipment you will need for a course, we will discuss this with you at the time of booking.

Do I need to have any experiance?

For experience and entry level courses, you will not need any experience. For development courses, your instructor will guide you through any course prerequisites.

After completing a Try Dive, am I a qualified diver?

This experience dive can be credited towards the first training dive of an Open Water course. Speak to your Instructor to find out how to transition into being a fully qualified diver.
